Poem – “Blood on Your Hands”

Blood on Your Hands

The false sympathy of a fool
Appealing to those you plan to kill
The blood of women on your hands,
Their children, their fathers
I would shatter my vow of violence
To mirror your actions unto you
Never so powerless as I’ve been
Surrounded by the false piety of fools

Cosmic Love Hits #1 in Contemporary Poetry!

bookpic

Cosmic Love has since dropped to around #10 or so, but for quite a few days it was the top hit in contemporary poetry! It’s also charted fairly well in dark fantasy, considering there’s a much larger volume of that genre out there. If any readers of this blog picked a copy up, I thank you! It’s much appreciated.
The Kindle edition and ePub are still free for the taking, as I’ve noted before. The next entry in the series should be out around May 16th-May 18th, with books three and four following suit close behind. I’m still not sure of the status of five, six and beyond, because after these I am taking a break from poetry to work on my fiction. Poetry is my hobby, fiction is my passion.
Stay tuned for a trivia and commentary later this week. It’s not an analysis, don’t worry. How pompous would you have to be to analyze your own book? No, it’s just some fun facts and making-of tidbits. Nothing grand, but might be of interest.

Poem – “Flower Crown”

Flower Crown

The triad of sisters crowned with poppies,
Twirling into the hour of the equinox
The spring of mother water spider
Crawling up from the guts of the earth
To rain upon heaven from the inside out
Gentle dream of the aeon before judgment

Cosmic Love – An Eternal eBook Giveaway

ChapbookCoverCL(Ebook)

Cosmic Love, the latest in my foray into genre poetry, is now officially free ad infinitum. Forever and eternal, worldwide. At least the eBook versions, but there’s also a fairly snazzy paperback available for not too much if you prefer print. I know some stand by print religiously, so I make a point to offer it if I can.
This entry in the series is one of romantic melancholy, with some tinges of science fiction aesthetic and dark fantasy.

All versions should be in beautiful order. If you get a copy, reviews would be appreciated. Feel free to interact with me on Goodreads, I love to hear what people think. I’ll be doing a series of commentary on this and Absolute Heaven soon as well. Tell your poetic friends, help it hit the top of the chart! At least for its fifteen minutes of fame, that is. It’s also available on several other eBook sellers, like Apple Books, but I certainly don’t feel like listing them all, so you’re free to search your favourites. Enjoy! 🙂

Poem – “Somewhere Below”

Somewhere Below

An electric larvae that sleeps in our heart
Hear it gestate with the voice of a human
Somewhere below, deep in the cerebrum
Hear it aging, fed by the scarlet darkness
Infinite, but doesn’t know, never knows

Poem – “Betrayer”

Betrayer

Flighty and indefinite,
You expect the souls of others
To be handed over automatically
On a whim, then you abandon
What little that they meant to you
Flaky and undisciplined,
You can change your mind
But you can’t reconstruct another
Not that you’d stay long enough
To amount to much more than betrayer

Poem – “Break the Charm”

Break the Charm

Your voice striking yet sinister,
Like a violin under symphonic pressure
Break the charm with its power
Let it flower, and it will guard you
The cacophony of curses roiling in the air,
Their phantom will have no will over yours

Poem – “Twilights in January”

Twilights in January

Another edible soul
Sprouted up before its time
An equinox in winter
When witchcraft comes into play
And the fair folk come out of
A restless hibernation
The latest twilights in January,
You can feel them in the shadow

Poem – “Anxious, Anxious”

Anxious, Anxious

Trying to entrance myself into believing
That it isn’t a major ordeal at all,
That there’s no needle-teeth lurking beneath
Everything I try to hold in reverence
And it’s not true that it means nothing at all
But it’s a pit of vipers under its skin

Anxious, anxious
I don’t know what’s lying
But I know you mean harm
Underneath your surface
Anxious, anxious
What it is, it never is
All a pit of snakes in waiting

Poem – “Tension of Wolves”

Tension of Wolves

Question relentlessly what they mean for you
Or risk stripping away your humanity,
First the surface patched with emotions
Then the tangible – the skin and muscle,
The bones that shield your heart and soul
And lastly any threads left of identity
You will be less than phantom if they get you,
Suspect eternal what they mean to do

Loverboy is $1 on Kindle

Just a friendly reminder that the Kindle edition of my debut is only a $1 (or the equivalent). I’ve worked very hard to make this collection the most beautiful, stylistically and linguistically that I am able to, so please consider buying a copy if it looks interesting to you. It’s available in any countries that have Amazon, and if you purchase a new copy of the paperback, you get a download of the Kindle version as well for free. Both versions look quite good, actually, I’ve made doubly sure that they do. There’s samples for your convenience.
It is also on Kindle Unlimited for the time being but I’m afraid I’ll be letting its KU license expire later this month so that I can publish it in ePub.

Hearts + Thorns

This poem, “Hearts + Thorns”, was featured in the twelfth issue of Radium Piano Band, an awesome newer blog dedicated to experimental writing. “Hearts + Thorns” is from and will be one of the early pieces in an upcoming poetry book that was picked up for publication, that will likely come out next year or late in this year. “Hearts + Thorns” is pretty reflective of the collection, which deals heavily with occultism and the weight of suicide.
Interestingly, the collection ties in with a novella that I’m on the second draft of. They are perfectly reasonable separate, of course, but share a lot of imagery. Anyway, enjoy!

Poem – “Emerald”

Emerald

I will always dream about you
Gilded, shining beyond my reach
A human embodiment of the moon
Eclipsing the sun and his joys
Infusing eyes with the emerald of envy

I can’t say you’re heroic
I can’t even say you mean well
So fearsome I can’t stop your image
A jewel set permanently in my dreams

Poem – “Waiting For Reality”

Waiting For Reality

Fluorescent blue
Burning needles behind my eyes
An antiseptic haven
Waiting for reality to roll into motion
Shed its layer of calm like a lie
The pinnacle of the hour
Is the hour that holds itself still
Melting without moving,
Flying by and going nowhere
Fluorescents buzzing
With all other sound held captive

Poem – “[Untitled.01]”

[Untitled.01]

I see you have become abandoned
Generated by a forlorn stranger
And left missing crucial numbers
Gaps in your surface that will only crumble
A hull of steel that was formed rusted
I’m afraid I cannot save you,
Only execute the end you desire

Poem – “Antiromantic”

Antiromantic

Here we go again,
Severing fingers to pocket their rings
Throwing funerals for lost emotions
Pretending any more beauty is possible
When we are sure it has deceased

We were the killers, after all
Yet here we go again, feigning romantic
Like a love song written by bitter cowards
Or gratitude promised by a miser
