Poem – “Common Ground”

Common Ground

We share no cell nor appendage
Not a mitochondria links our blood
You awaken when I’m craving sleep
And you interrupt when I’m mindful
I crawl to the mountains,
You slither down to your swamp
And we’ll never share a common ground
